What is MAPEL?The Michigan Association of Professors of Educational Leadership (MAPEL) is composed of university faculty from across Michigan who represent educational administration and leadership preparation programs. University educator preparation programs are CAEP accredited and approved by the Michigan Department of Education.

Michigan educator preparation programs leading to administrator certification are approved by the Michigan Department of Education's Office of Educator Excellence.
Our Focus to Leadership
MAPEL is engaged in the preparation, development, and policy and legislative advocacy for improved school and district leadership. Our work is focused on improving the knowledge and skills of current and aspiring leaders to advance educational excellence across Michigan that leads to academic equality for all.
MAPEL Members are focused on preparing Michigan educational leaders through various degrees and programs across 15 membership institutions.

Continuous leadership development is a core element in effective leadership. MAPEL members provide continuous, life-long learning options for current educational leaders through advanced degree programs, certificates, and other learning opportunities.

MAPEL is engaged in policy and legislative activities throughout Michigan that impacts the field of PK-12 education and leadership.
